I think Viet Taste makes six Vietnamese restaurants in the Huntsville area. Can you believe it? Remember when it was Viet Huong or nothing?
Viet Taste is a south Huntsville satellite of Viet Cuisine on Jordan Lane, so my expectations were high, because Viet Cuisine rocks. Plus, being on Bailey Cove puts it in my mentor (once) and close friend (since) Melanie’s neighborhood. I have eaten more Vietnamese food with Melanie than anyone else, by well over an order of magnitude. (Maybe close to two. Really.) We went to Viet Taste for lunch recently.
The menu is similar to Viet Cuisine’s, which is to say there are many soup, vermicelli, and clay pot selections, rounded out with banh mi and even some curry selections. I went with summer rolls opening for pho tai, which is my standby.

Everything was fresh, vibrant, and reasonably priced, as I would have expected. This is among the best pho being served in the area. Our service was excellent.
The dining room is clean and pleasant, with room for expansion when it is (hopefully) needed. On that note, I understand this is something of a “cursed” location. Nothing has succeeded here. To be sure, it is inconvenient to Research Park and even most Redstone Arsenal locations for lunch. Plus, its storefront faces north in a shopping center oriented east-west, so you can only spot it as an impulse stop headed south. Are those factors behind the “cursed”? I don’t know. But if anyone can break it, Viet Taste can. Go see them!
